'If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand!' Matthew 5:15 CROSSing Melbourne (CM) was formed in 2004 and is a not-for-profit, non-denominational support network for Christian high school students run by Christian high school students throughout Melbourne and greater Victoria. Our mission is to 'unite, empower and support Christian high school students to shine God's light within their schools' with a vision 'to see every high school proclaiming and glorifying Jesus Christ'. We believe that the biggest impact in high schools is achieved when Christian high school students unite and reach out to their fellow students, sharing God’s message. |
The CM team organizes and runs an annual conference for Christian high school students. The CM conference for 2007 was held at Carey Grammar on Saturday August 4th. It included student- and adult-run workshops and a powerful rally, in which God moved powerfully through the gathered students and renewed our focus on God's vision for our high schools. You can see the notes from Pastor MJ Want's conference message, "A blameless man in a blame-filled land". There are few other times when Christians can have such a profound impact on such a large number of people than when we are at high school. Let us prepare to see God do amazing things in the schools of Melbourne and beyond! Thanks very much to Mustard, Saturn Graphics, Illuminus, Rhema FM and Light FM for their invaluable support.
